Recap of Python Night

December 31st, 2008 Posted in Scales And Tails

Our December reptile workshop was so much fun!!  This month we focused on PYTHONS.  We started out the night with a little bit of snake handling while we waited for everyone to gather.  Then Shane Richins took us though a variety of the pythons we had on hand.  We experienced Blood Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, Ball Pythons, Bermese Pythons and then ended with Rock Pythons. The Rock python led us to our super cool activity of the night!  We got to pretend to hunt Rock Pythons in the wild. We each got a turn at crawling into an “ardvark tunnel” in search of a snake.  When we found it, we pulled and pulled and with the help of our buddies on the outside of the tunnel we were able to pull that giant python out of the tunnel. See the gallery below.
