Monitor Lizards are COOL!!

January was Monitor month! Owner, Shane Richins, holds a deep fondness for Monitor lizards. At this workshop we got to learn all about the cousins of the Komoto Dragon. We started out with the baby monitor lizards and worked our way up to the adults. Some of you that came last year, got to see how big some of our last year’s babies have gotten. “Bug” for instance has tripled in size since last year!! We learned which monitor lizards make good pets and which ones do not. Afterwards, we played Pin-the-Tail on the Monitor and then got to watch Zig Zag and Bug eat a whole bunch of really gross stuff like cockroaches, raw meat, raw eggs, and dead fish!!
