This March we held a workshop on snake breeding and color morphs. Guest speaker, Mike Jenks, who is a local snake breeder and expert on creating color morphs in said reptiles, came and introduced us to the concept. We got to see a variety of cool patterns in ball pythons and blood pythons, and even got to handle some of them! Afterwards, local artist, Joy McManaman, and Scales & Tail’s own Jeremy Westerman painted faces. The kids also got to go crazy with the bubbles! We had all the kids take a turn at being inside a giant bubble and pretend to hatch out of an egg by popping the bubble. It was a soapy mess but well worth it! Check out the pics below:
Scales and Tails entertainer Jeremy Westerman presented a great workshop on Scorpions last month. We learned about different types of Scorpions, their habitats, how to search for them in the wild, and that they glow under a black light. We got an up close and personal….sometimes too personal (in the mouth!) look at some scorpions and then we went on a hunt all over the shop trying to find some painted scorpions! It was really fun and we have the pictures to prove it. Take a look!
