Shirley is from Salt Lake City but loves living in Utah County. She has always been devoted and loving to animals but her special love of birds began as a small child. She was always chasing the back yard birds. Shirley has been a Hogle Zoo docent, a veterinary technician (for 10 years), involved in local bird clubs, avian societies and presenting wildlife educational programs for over 30 years. She currently shares her life with Chihuahuas, Macaws, African grey, Amazons, Cockatoo and is permitted to educate with a Red Tail Hawk. She has been married to Professor Paul Bybee Ph.D. for the last 15 years and enjoys exploring paleontology in Utah with him.
