Recap of Agamid & Iguanid Night

March 26th, 2009 Posted in Scales And Tails

It was a night of dragons… Bearded Dragons, Water Dragons, Frill Dragons and “Air Canon Dragons”!

During the first part of the evening we learned about Agamids and Iguanids which are typically considered “Good Pets” in the reptile world.  We got to handle some of the Agamids that Scales and Tails owns such as “Slug” the beared dragon and “Oscar” the uromastyx.  We also got to learn about and pet “Jub Jub” the green iguana.  Next we each got handed a paper towel tube and some red streamer.  We were told to stuff as much of the streamers as we could into the tube.  Then we loaded the “DRAGON CANON”  We used a long stick to push the streamers through the tube and down into the mouth of the dragon, pushed a button and WHOOSH!!  Flames came shooting out of its mouth!!  We did this over and over and over… it was  blast!  Then like every Reptile Rookie Night, we got to hold some of our favorite animals.  It was a great night and we were so glad that so many people could come out!
